Dear Wikimedians of the Levant,
The Swedish Embassy in Abu Dhabi is participating in an event called #WikiGap. This is an event during which people around the world will gather to add more content to Wikipedia about women figures, experts and role models in various fields.
On 8 March - International Women's Day - the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Swedish embassies will host simultaneous events in more than 40 countries, from Sweden to Indonesia, Egypt and Colombia.
In Abu Dhabi, we will host an event at New York University Abu Dhabi where we hope to be able to contribute a lot of new articles together with students and other participants.
But, and this is where you guys come in, we lack a local Wikimedia chapter and could really use some help in finding a local enthusiast to attend the event and walk us through the steps of editing and uploading the articles. I have been in contact with Sara Mörtsell at Wikimedia Sweden who recommended I reach out to you. If you do not know of any local chapter, would one of you be interested in coming to Abu Dhabi and help moderate the editing together with us? We would of course cover travel expenses.
Warm regards,
Rosanna Eddin Embassy of Sweden Abu Dhabi, UAE

Hello Rosanna
Thank you for reaching out. We will spare no efforts to help you in making this event happen. We are working with the embassy in Amman to do the edit-athon on the specified date.
In order to check who can travel to Ab Dhabi, could you please explain if you need the representative to be available only on March 8th or some time earlier (for training for example), and who will participate from your end, students? What other expenses will you cover, is it only travel expenses? I would assume accommodation and pocket money for the needed duration.
Regards Mervat Salman
