Hi all, I've been asked to be the chair of the audit committee. I'm also told the audit committee must consist of at least three members. Following best practices, the audit committee members should generally be independent (not officers or employees) of WM-DC. We can re-use non- officer board members though if any are willing. I expect it to be a minimal time commitment. I'm going to meet with the treasurer to review the financial records and discuss what is the best format to present them to the audit committee members. I suspect it will be a PDF copy of the bank statements and financial statements for the year. Maybe an hour or two of time commitment, including discussion of scope and clarification of issues. Any volunteers? Financial knowledge is helpful, but not required.
