Good news! I just heard from Cat Allman at Google that they are willing to support Wikimania 2012 in DC at the diamond level (40k). The email I received was also sent to wikimania-sponsorship@wikimedia.org. It contains a purchase order number and instructions for billing. Will things just work from here, or do I need to do anything else?
A big thanks should go to Stefano Mazzocchi, Danny Berlin and Chris DiBona at Google who helped make this happen.

This is excellent news; thanks to everyone involved in making this happen!
As far as the logistics are concerned, could you please also forward the email to fundraising@wikidc.org? I'm not entirely sure who from our fundraising team is subscribed to the wikimania-sponsorships address, so it might be best to have a copy go to the main one as well.
Cheers, Kirill

This is wonderful news to hear upon my arrival to Berlin. I will share this with the rest of the conference. I will also be writing an announcement about this
We need to announce all of our sponsors soon and start creating a page with sponsor logos.
