Whoops, that should be ASMM - the American Society for Microbiology
meeting. Formed through the fusion of the previous two largest ASM events,
this will be the largest known colony of μbiologists in the universe — 10k
biologists, 3500 posters, 10^18 microorganisms — at the Boston Convention
Center.
ASM will have a wiki editathon on Sunday Jun 19, which needs facilitators.
Some attendees have already been to an editathon earlier this year, so it
may go beyond a normal newbie workshop. If this sounds interesting &
you're game to coordinate w/ admins on en:wp and commons, please sign up!
[And if you root for wikispecies too, noone will judge].

Accepted facilitators get a pass to the full conference — geek out about
optics, viral warfare, and CRISP gene tailoring; see Bill Gates keynote &
find out why 640kbp ought to be enough for any body.

The Simons Foundation is sponsoring a Wikipedia edit-a-thon at this year’s ASM
Microbe <http://www.asmmicrobe.org/> meeting. (Sunday, June 19, 2016 from
8:15am to 12:15pm at the Boston Convention Center). If you’re interested in
participating as an on-site facilitator during the edit-a-thon — by helping
novice editors get started and answering participant questions — sign up
here:

the ASM Meeting (or reimbursement, if already registered). Experience
editing Wikipedia is strongly preferred.
