Hello everyone. I'm not entirely sure that these emails are read and/or wanted, but here's one anyways!
Tonight's meeting was attended by five people. Maia (the event planner for the upcoming Ada Lovelace Day edit-a-thon) was there, and the main topic of conversation was that event. Aside from the Ada Lovelace event, no official business was discussed. In short, while we'd have loved for you to have joined us, if you didn't show, you didn't miss anything new or critical.
There are four events coming up in New England that you should know about. They are:

- The UMass Amherst Wikipedia Loves Libraries event on Thursday, October 25th, from 9:00am to 5:00pm at UMass Amherst's Du Bois Library. < http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Meetup/UMassAmherst%3E - The Boston Dorchester/Roxbury Wikipedia Loves Libraries event on Saturday, November 10th, (times TBA) at the Dorchester/Roxbury branch of the Boston Public Library. <link TBA> - The Cambridge Public Library Wikipedia Loves Libraries event on Saturday, November 17th, from 11:00am to 5:00pm at the Cambridge Public Library main branch. < http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Meetup/Cambridge_Public_Library/Wikip...
Please note that Maia would like for you to RSVP for the Ada Lovelace Day event via email. Her mailing address is maiaw@nasw.org. The other two events with pages set up have regular sign up sections.
If any Wikipedia administrators are reading, it'd probably be a good idea to set up the sitenotice for the Ada Lovelace Day event as soon as possible, as we're only a week away.

They actually placed geo notices last week on the talk pages of many users. In response to Sven’s idea about having a coordinator, I think it is a good idea, but I am hesitant about having one because there may be reasons for holding an event at such and such a time (Amherst is hosting ours that day because it is part of a whole week of festivities, for example).

When I referred to "coordinators" earlier I was referring to the people planning each individual event. While I do believe that it might be valuable to have a single-point-of-communication type figure who would keep track of all the events and then keep everyone abreast of upcoming events and new developments, I never envisioned a role in which one person would dictate schedule and plan all the events. Besides that being both highly stressful and possibly impossible, that's also rather un-Wiki.

I just added the Ada Lovelace event to the geonotice. Can one of you actually in the target area check that it's showing up correctly?
