This of course appears to be the most expensive
weekend in all of
April to fly out :P (by like double) :)

meeting in April?
In the interest of getting the ball rolling, I have gone ahead
and created a meetup page and selected Saturday, April 22 as our
target date. Please see
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Meetup/New_England
The idea here is that we haven't a well-attended event (like
NYC's Wikipedia Day mini-conference) in Boston in a long time. It
would be good to get as many people together as we can, and try
to create momentum for the future. For example, do we want to
hold a Wiknic in two months' time (from the meetup date)? What
can we do to make sure New England is active in this year's US
Wiki Loves Monuments campaign? And we want to raise awareness
among the community about ongoing initiatives like the education
program and GLAM, and about the upcoming Wikimania in DC this summer.
We'll need a venue. It sounds like the kind of event where we
want a conference room at a college or library, and I would
suggest somewhere in Boston proper is probably better than
Cambridge. I can work on this, but if anyone else has a good
idea, please chime in.

I've been pretty dormant for the last few

the first week of April, when I'll be in California for work :-)
