Ah, so the actual meetup will be at 7pm? Where?

Seconded on Copley Square. It sounds like a better place to launch the event, for the reason you mention. We could meet right outside Boston Public Library.
I've been compiling a list of 200+ places in Boston that don't have images on Wikipedia yet. It's organized by neighborhood and category of place. I'll send a link to the draft list within the next few days. If we split up by neighborhood, then we'll get more widespread and efficient coverage of the city and be less likely to have multiple people photographing the same place.
If people want more time, then perhaps we could start at 11:00 AM and end at 5:30 PM? The meetup is at 7:00 PM (and we usually meet over food) -- ending at 5:30 PM would give us some time to upload the photos we've gathered. That entails wrapping up at some place with Internet access, but I don't think that should be too hard to find.

Would meeting at Government Center to launch the event work? At the end of the event, it would probably make sense to gather near where we'll be having the April meetup that evening. How about Copley Square? Many of the missing photographs in Boston are farther south anyway, in Dorchester and Roxbury. Though Government Center would be fine. 12pm-5pm is not a lot of time to collect photographs -- it can be surprising how long it takes to get some good shots -- but I might try to come in to town a little early and get a head start :-) --t.
