This sounds like a great event for wikipedians to meet chemists *interested* in wikipedia. The ACS is also hosting a symposium on sunday about wikipedia and open wiki editing in their discipline. I won't be able to make the event on Wednesday but if you can, it will probably be fun.

Hello, all--
The American Chemical Society is holding its 250th meeting in Boston this August, and as part of that meeting they are holding a Wikipedia edit-a-thon on Notable Chemists and Chemistry the afternoon of August 19th.
While most spots are intended for conference attendees, they've made 15 spots open to the public -- which is wonderful news!
If anyone is interested in attending, you must RSVP to k_lindblom (at) acs.org to reserve your spot and receive details on entering the conference.
You'll find more information at the Meetup.com and Wikipedia event pages:

As an added bonus, I imagine the convention center will have excellent air conditioning!
