Hello,
The strategic planning process, which we chatted about over the brainstorming session with Jonathan Zittrain last month, is picking up speed : there are hundreds of proposals in a half-dozen languages at strategy.wikimedia.org and some good discussions about what overal priorities are emerging from them. http://strategy.wikimedia.org/wiki/Emerging_strategic_priorities
If you're able to help over the next few months, all of these writers and brainstormers need support from researchers, writers, translators and subject experts to identify links between projects, review what's already out there, and translate and compare proposals across languages. Please fill out this form to get involved: http://volunteer.wikimedia.org/volunteer/
And pass this message on! This process is open to all, regardless of their background or type of interest; while only some people will be invited to form core working groups for one of the founding task foces, this is a proper barnraising: all are welcome to form new task forces or contribute in another fashion. Let me know if you have any questions.
Warmly, SJ
SJ
