Some time after next Friday (16th), we will change the default Perl version (that is, /usr/bin/perl) on the Solaris login servers and web servers from 5.10.1 to 5.12.1. This should not require any changes from users; however, you might want to test your tools with /usr/bin/perl5.12.

After the change, /usr/bin/perl5.10 will be available for a short period, but will then be removed. If you have a problem with Perl 5.12, rather than changing your tools to use /usr/bin/perl5.10, file a request in JIRA.
