I run the replace.py bot on a private MediaWiki. It works so for well but as soon as the page (where I want to replace words) contains German Umlaute like ä, ö, ü I get the error message

File "Z:\Spezifikation\pywikipedia\wikipedia.py", line 2175, in getData data = data.encode(self.site.encoding()) UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xc3 in position 1684: ordin al not in range(128)

Is there any work around? Has someone tried the replace.py bot with German pages?
