Add "ring_bell = False" to your user-config.py. Restart your bot and enjoy your silence.

P.s. This setting is False by default in the currect version (since r4469) of the framework. Maybe it is a good idea to update, especially if you are talking to MediaWiki 1.13.

where can I switch off that terrible beep that sounds every time whne the bot finds a page and is very happy with that? Im am much less happy.
