Hello,
A few people who work on some Python MediaWiki libraries started talking
on IRC today about how much duplication there is in the ecosystem,
resulting basically in wasted effort.
As long as we have bots as long as people
start new ones from scratch.
I would love to get them on board, but some people seem to like to
complaining about Pywikibot more than contributing to it. Let's see if
we can change that. Does someone have some sort of overview what python
api related code is out there? Maybe good to make an overview of that
prior to this meeting?
We've set up a meeting at the Lyon hackathon so we
can talk about what
we're working on, and how we can collaborate together:
Subscribed some more people.
Also, are people interested in doing some kind of
Pywikibot sprint?
Looking at the attendee list
(<https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Hackathon_2015/Attendees>) I
see multichill, valhallasw, jayvdb, and myself.
Finally a hackathon event with
enough Pywikibot people to do an actual
sprint? That would be nice! :-)
Is anyone else planning
to attend (or did I miss anyone :/)?
Looking at the list of active commiters, maybe
Maybe xqt, xzise or
Ricordisamoa?
