I have a bunch of breaking changes I'd like to make to the framework's API; some of them are already in Gerrit ([1] https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/178579, [2] https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/178647). John Vandenberg said they can be merged after the 2.0 release, but I don't see a schedule yet. How long are we supposed to wait?
Main milestone that keeps us from releasing pywikibot 2 is i18n. The patch https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#q,I6e2c63db039854dd8d009d837b2e6b9d11ba217a,n,z that allows pywikibot to use json file is still under review and at first we have to wait until another patch https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#q,I12518189126d8f929d30ab18bf8597a288d28891,n,z got merged and then we start working on this one.
If someone works and make this patch https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#q,I12518189126d8f929d30ab18bf8597a288d28891,n,z merged. I will finish up the other patch.
