Hello,
I want to run pywikibot script from inside docker, and I don't want to interactively go into it and login using keyboard. What should I do to login?
I asked similar question on stack overflow https://stackoverflow.com/questions/59254302/how-to-login-with-pywikibot-using-password-from-environment-variable, but got no answer there.
Thank you for any suggestions.
Sincerely, Taras Bunyk
On Wikimedia wikis, the best option for bot logins is to use an OAuth owner-only consumer. Follow the instructions at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Pywikibot/OAuth/Wikimedia to do that, more information is at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Pywikibot/OAuth and https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/OAuth/Owner-only_consumers.
If you can't do that, you can use BotPasswords. The instructions are on https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Pywikibot/BotPasswords.
