Don't know about SVN but for the 2.0/trunk story:
The 2.0 branch is in practice unmaintained and only the master branch can
be relied on right now.
2.0 will amongst other things not work reliably with Wikidata/Wikibase
(and will by default actively do bad/discouraged edits when it comes to
WbQuantity).
No new release is in the pipeline but the discussions around this can be
found in
https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T152907 and some of the tasks
linked to from there.
