Hi Everyone,
Welcome to the Advocacy Advisors Group!
The purpose of this mailing list is to provide an open venue where anyone can participate in lively discussions about political and legislative developments around the world that could affect the Wikimedia mission. If the need arises, the Wikimedia Foundation will also seek discussion and input from the members of this list regarding potential policy or political associations with third parties, in accordance with the Wikimedia Foundation Policy and Political Association Guidelinehttp://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Legal_and_Community_Advocacy/Foundation_Policy_and_Political_Affiliations_Guideline .
Advocacy Advisors Group Instructions & Guidelines
- Anyone can join or leave the group anytime. You can subscribe or unsubscribe at : https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/advocacy_advisors.
- Anyone can start a new subject thread. Read an interesting article about new censorship law you want to share or want to start a discussion on open internet legislation? Just email Advocacy_advisors[at] lists.wikimedia.org.
- Stay within the scope of the group. While we believe in open discourse about any and everything, the purpose of this mailing list is limited to political and legislative developments that can or will have an impact on Wikimedia projects or the mission, and any potential policy or political affiliations that may develop with third parties as a result of such developments. Please try to limit discussion to this purpose.
- Keep it on one thread. For the sake of organization and clarity, if you would like to comment on an established subject, please respond to that particular thread rather than starting a new one.
- Stay on point. For the sake of organization and clarity, if you would like to comment on an established subject, please respond to that particular thread rather than starting a new one. And please limit those comments to the subject at hand. If you have a new issue that you want addressed, start a new thread!
- Above all, be nice! Everyone has their own views, some of which may differ from your own. Please treat everyone in this group with respect and civility, even during heated debates. Remember to be clear when expressing your thoughts, calm when responding, and understanding when you disagree. Any member of this group may be given a warning or removed from the list for incivility.
