Hi Ivan,
Thanks a lot for reaching out!
To be sure: this is an official statement. We are trying out new channels to reach policymakers and participants in the policy conversation who are interested in copyright, the public domain, and free knowledge.
We shared our thoughts in this format so that we can get the message out quickly and reach a wide audience of interested people in the Wikimedia movement and beyond.

Dear all
We, the policy team at WMF, have written down our thoughts about TPP's effect on the public domain in a post on Medium: https://medium.com/@wikimediapolicy/what-s-tpp-the-problematic-partnership-6...
If you agree, go ahead and recommend the post to others or retweet our message on Twitter: https://twitter.com/wikimediapolicy/status/694812284145786880
If you don't agree with our views, please let us know and help us get an honest discussion off the ground!
Best, Yana, Stephen, and Jan
