Is the draft open to public editing? I expect it is, given the recent
post to foundation-l. But I feel that most people following the
process are leaving comments rather than making edits, either not
feeling ownership or waiting until they understand better the intent
of the process.
If the timeline is not set in stone, it might improve public
perception of this work to announce more broadly that the proposal is
an editable draft, and to make it a proposal to all stakeholders. For
the coming Board meeting, we could ask for a general sense of approval
(and request a similar sense of approval from the Chapters) rather
than asking for a specific page of text to be Formally Ratified by
either group. This would also allow us flexibility over time, as the
problem space becomes clearer.
