Thanks all for clarifying - good to know that it is widely acknowledged to be weird, but ultimately not a problem.

Hi everyone,
I don`t know if this has been mentioned before, but I wanted to know if GWToolset (including beta cluster) is capable of extracting images from an open FTP server? I am working on putting the digitized collection of the Neuchatel Herbarium on Commons using the GWToolset, and for that purpose I made a simple xml file where the <url> links to an open FTP server and tested it on the beta cluster, but did not have any luck.
Here is the text of the xml file:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <record> <filename>Neuchâtel Herbarium - Acer campestre - NEU000026001</filename> <institution>Institution:University of Neuchâtel</institution> <photographer>Neuchâtel Herbarium</photographer> <taxon>Acer campestre</taxon> <description>Dried pressed specimen of Polystichum lobatum</description> <url>ftp://sitelftp.unine.ch/WMEDIA/Acer/Aceraceae/campestre/NEU000026001.tiff</url> </record>
Here is the text of the error message I am receiving: The media file URL could not be evaluated. The URL delivers the content in a way that is not yet handled by this extension or there was an HTTP request issue. URL given was "ftp://sitelftp.unine.ch/WMEDIA/Acer/Aceraceae/campestre/NEU000026001.tiff". HTTP request error "Invalid URL: $1".
I would highly appreciate receiving some feedback from someone who has already had an experience using an FTP server.
Best regards,

The FTP site would need to be added to the tool's whitelist. Follow the link on the first form of the GWTool - or the link below (you will need to set up a bugzilla account).
