Hello,
the icons in the menu are only displayed as squares for me.
With other skins they are normal.
Only with the Foreground skin, they cannot be displayed correctly.
Can someone please help me with this.
I'm using MediaWiki 1.39.1 and PHP 8.1
Hi,
While the skin's page tells that it supports MW 1.35 and 1.36, there is
only REL1_39 and REL1_40 branches. And in the master branch, backward
compatibility has been broken, the skin can't work for 1.35.
So:
- How does download the skin for 1.35? Which commit should be used? Are
there changes in master or REL1_39 that should be backported or are all the
changes are solely to put the skin to 1.39?
- In the future will Foreground be respecting the convention and should we
therefore download in REL1_39 and not master?
Have a good day, thanks in advance for the response,
Rififi
Hello,
are there any plans for a new release supporting Mediawiki 1.39+ ?
The latest version of Foreground (2.4.0) officially supports Mediawiki
up to 1.36.
Thanks, Radouch
Hi! Recently updated our wiki to the newest version of Mediawiki, and
downloaded the newest version of foreground as well. Now all of the
hide/show buttons on the table of contents are missing. I'll be honest, I'm
not very good at javascript, so I don't know if I can fix this in common.js
or if I have to go into the foreground files. I made sure it wasn't a CSS
issue, and I made sure this problem was specific to the foreground skin. I
can use CSS to add text to the .toctogglelabel label, which shows up empty
in the code, but clicking on it does nothing. Clicking on the
.toctogglecheckbox checkbox does nothing as well. I would appreciate any
help. - Dusty
Hello,
I've emailed this list before about my difficulties getting MediaWiki 1.35.x to play with the new foreground 2.3.0. My former boss insisted on using a specific template for each page, and although several of you have said foreground works with 1.35, I cannot get it to cooperate with mine. I fully acknowledge the problem is on my side, but I just simply don't possess the experience to resolve the issue. I've attached two images (sorry for the redactions-I work in law enforcement), with one showing our current wiki running MW 1.31.12 and foreground 2.1, and the second our test wiki running MW 1.35 and foreground 2.3.0. I'm trying to get the new version to look like the current one. If anyone can provide any guidance I'd greatly appreciate it. I can provide some of the code used if it would help (<DIV> commands using tables) but the problem exists through the entire wiki, even the special page that has the tabs for appearance preferences. The new foreground seems to break every table and tab.
Again, shot in the dark here, I'm out of ideas. Thanks in advance.

Greetings all:
I'll start off by explaining that I'm attempting to "pick up the pieces" of a wiki drastically changed by my boss who has now departed the organization, so I apologize in advance if some knowledge is beyond me. I'm in the process of upgrading MediaWiki from 1.31.10 to 1.35.0 due to 1.31.x going end-of-life next year. I've successfully migrated everything, only needed to upgrade a few extensions, but one item I'm unable to figure out is the Foreground skin, which my boss used as default. I can't go back to the previous formatting without crippling the formatting, and I can't seem to get the skin to format the way it did in 1.31.x. Specifically, it seems to ignore DIV commands, and the touch-button features are no longer active, so everything just aligns on the left part of the page. Even in the preferences page of my user ID, I can't click on "appearance" or any of the other tabs. I have upgraded to the 1.35.x compatible skin, but there's obviously a configuration setting that has changed from 1.31 to 1.35 that I'm unaware of. Any advice would be appreciated. I've included code from my main page to show what formatting is being used. Again, apologies in advance if I'm missing something obvious-I am trying to "drink from the fire hose" here..

Thanks for a great MediaWiki skin.
The "MENU" text overlaps with my (too-long) site title on the iPhone 11
Pro. I would get rid of the word "MENU" by creating a
blank MediaWiki:Foreground-menutitle page.
However...
The hamburger has disappeared from my site when viewed on the iPhone 11 Pro
Max (iOS 14.1). There is a blank space and the link/dropdown still works.
I'm using MW1.34 and Foreground 2.3.0.
I would have blamed myself for experimenting with the CSS, but it's the
same on https://foreground.wikiproject.net/wiki/Main_Page so I'm not sure.
The hamburger on WikiApiary does display, though, and it works on desktop
Chrome pretending to be any mobile, including the iPhone X.
Is there anything I can change to fix this?
Thanks
Jonathan
Thanks Karsten
Interface administrator makes sense. I got it to work yesterday by loging
in as the Mediawiki account (which is in all right groups) instead of my
own.
Thanks,
Bruno.
