Hello, dear Collab.
Writing to share with you some videos we posted today on Wiki Ed's blog https://wikiedu.org/blog/2016/10/27/new-videos-feature-ucsf-faculty-encouraging-others-to-teach-with-wikipedia/. Each one is about teaching with Wikipedia in some capacity. The two instructor ones may be of interest to you to encourage folks in your country to teach with Wikipedia, so please feel free to do so. The Vimeo and Wikimedia Commons links are shared in the blog post.
Additionally, the Commons videos have timed subtitles. I thought some of you may be interested in translating them (they're all about 2.5 minutes long) and creating your own version with subtitles in your language.
The video about Wikipedia motivating students https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:UCSF_and_Wiki_Ed_Medical_Outreach,_Tina_Brock.webm has English subtitles here https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/TimedText:UCSF_and_Wiki_Ed_Medical_Outreach,_Tina_Brock.webm.en.srt. The video about medical students reaching a large audience https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:UCSF_and_Wiki_Ed_Medical_Outreach,_Amin_Azzam.webm of readers has English subtitles here https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/TimedText:UCSF_and_Wiki_Ed_Medical_Outreach,_Amin_Azzam.webm.en.srt .
Wanted to share in case that's useful to you in your own outreach efforts.
Best, Jami
