Dear Collab members,
We have started preparing a travel packet for the Collab meeting that will
be held in Stockholm, Sweden in March 2016.[1
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/16G1RDWMEXiJVDgeZvi0rTUOzcaSxF3VoylUUdzH…>]
This travel packet will include important information for your trip.
Currently it has FAQs about visas, supporting letters and insurance only,
so, please check it out if you have any questions around any of this.
We are still building this document to be a more comprehensive information
packet in the new year. More information will be added about the city,
getting ready for the trip, safety and security, etc. We will also let you
know whenever any important information is available.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you!

Hello everyone,
You may know that the education newsletter
<https://outreach.wikimedia.org/wiki/Education/News> is now being published
on a quarterly basis. The newsletter is going to be published early March,
June, September and December every year. And the first quarterly issue is
expected to be published in early December 2015 which is 10 days from now.
In the past 10 weeks we have received great contributions from education
programs all over the world. Thanks to these contributions we are expecting
a rich issue of the newsletter. Thank you for sharing your experience with
everyone in the Wikimedia movement!
Stay tuned for the first issue of *Education Quarterly*!
Thank you!
P.S. Please note that the deadline for adding content to every issue of the
education newsletter is 15 days before the publication date. e.g. The
deadline for contributions in the March issue is the 15th of February.

Dear Collab members,
We are happy to announce a new member joining the Wikipedia Education
Collaborative this week. Please join me in welcoming Venus Lui from Hong
Kong.
A little snippet about Venus in her own words:
I'm from Wikimedia Hong Kong, the Project Coordinator of the Wikipedia
Education Program, since 2014. I'm interested in the Education Program
related to literature and linguistics, as the articles related to
literature and linguistics on Wikipedia are not as numerous as other
topics. I have just finished the very first Wikipedia Education Program in
Hong Kong and we have collected 17 new entries in the pilot program. I am
planning to start the second Education Program in the coming January. I am
also interested in GLAM-Wiki, and I was one of the Program Committee of
GLAM-Wiki 2015. Currently, I am working on both Wikipedia Education Program
and GLAM-Wiki Project in Hong Kong.
Venus has also written a newsletter post about the Education Program kick
off in Hong Kong, see it here
<https://outreach.wikimedia.org/wiki/Education/Newsletter/June_2015/The_Firs…>.
Beside her other contributions to the Wikimedia movement. I'm sure she will
be a great addition to the group.
Venus, we are so happy to have you as part of the Collaborative. Thank you
for being part of this group and for putting your great experience to work
to help others around the world in their education efforts.
Please join me in welcoming Venus.

Dear Collab members,
Our next online Collab meeting will be on Monday 23rd November at 7PM UTC.
This was the most suitable time for everyone according to the Doodle Shani
has shared with you last week. You should have received an invitation to
the meeting in your inbox now. If you are a current member of the Collab
and you haven't received an invitation yet, please let me know.
The online meetings are a good opportunity to get updates of the collab,
talk to your colleagues, give them your updates and to discuss any topics
that we have. I will send you the updated agenda a couple of days before
the meeting. If you have any topic for discussion please send it to me so
that I can add it to the agenda.
Please all note that our online meetings are *optional*. You should feel
free to skip any meeting if you don't have time or feel that it's not
needed for you.
I will be looking forward to seeing you all later this month.
Be well!
