Hello, dear
translatewiki.net user.
This is the

localisation and changes in supported products. Thank you for supporting
translatewiki.net. The success of open source software localisation relies
on your continued involvement and enthusiasm. Please try and dedicate 15
minutes a week to updating and reviewing translations for your favourite
project and spend a little more time this week to share in 1,000 Euro!
Translation Rally: Contribute 500 translations and share in 1,000 Euro

sponsored by Wikimedia Nederland <http://wmnederland.nl>, the Dutch
Wikimedia chapter. We are very grateful for this wonderful support! The August

sure we can do even better this time! Can you bring the site down with your

Changes in supported products
Since the last newsletter, support for three new products was added, and
support for many other products was updated.
New product support:
- Mozilla Firefox
<https://translatewiki.net/wiki/Translating:Mozilla>does not require
any introduction. It's one of the most used web browsers
in the world. We are currently experimenting with a limited number of
languages. If you are currently a Firefox translator and would consider
using
translatewiki.net for your language with your team, please drop us
a note <https://translatewiki.net/wiki/Translating_talk:Mozilla>. At the
moment, only Hebrew and Gujarati are supported.
- Wiki Loves Monuments
Mobile<https://translatewiki.net/wiki/Translating:WLMMobile>is a is an
Android application for contributing to the Wiki
Loves Monuments
project<https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_…12>,
a photo competition around images of cultural heritage held in 35 countries
in September 2012.
- Wiktionary
Mobile<https://translatewiki.net/wiki/Translating:WiktionaryMobile>is
a cross-platform mobile & tablet application for reading and, in time,
contributing to Wiktionary <https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/>, a
Wikimedia project.
Put yourself on the map!
Translatewiki.net uses Semantic MediaWiki
<http://semantic-mediawiki.org/>and Semantic
Maps <https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Semantic_Maps> to put
translators
on the world map <https://translatewiki.net/wiki/Map_of_translators>. Each
language portal, like this one for
Arabic<https://translatewiki.net/wiki/Portal:Ar#open_layer_1>_1>,
also contains a map with translators for that language. The same goes for
pages with supported products, like that for
StatusNet<https://translatewiki.net/wiki/Translating:StatusNet#Translato…
.
Put yourself on the maps,

!
If you are a developer of a promising Free and Open Source Software product
and you are looking for a great community to localise your product, please
get in touch with us! The same goes for those that wish to aid in
developing the Translate extension further.

We welcome feedback about this newsletter. Please let us know by sending a
reply to this mail. We will try to accommodate your wishes.
Finally, of our 8,700 registered users, only 4,000 people are registered as
translator. You may want to finish the
steps<https://translatewiki.net/wiki/Special:FirstSteps>that will get
you the status of
translatewiki.net translator and allow you to be a localisation hero!
