We have been using ISIL [1] for quite some time on German Wikipedia [2] now.
Any other Wikipedias out there using similar identifiers?
[1]
(although
not reflected in the English article, ISIL applies for other institutions

[2]

The proposed Institutional Identifiers for libraries and organisations
in their supply chain:

If this includes museums, it not only gives them a UID, but also,
combined with accession numbers, a UID for each object or set of
objects.
