Hello all,
I'm excited to share that the New Media Consortium has released their first
Horizon Report for Libraries. For years NMC has produced Horizon Reports
for the academic and museum sectors, and those reports are invaluable for
monitoring shifts in the use of technology in informal and formal learning
environments.
You can see the full report here:
http://www.nmc.org/publications/2014-horizon-report-library
The Wikipedia Library and DPLA are both mentioned.
I've served on the Horizon Report: Museum Edition advisory board for three
years, and I'm a contributing editor for the NMC blog, where I discuss
Wikipedia frequently. I've always been impressed by the New Media
Consortium's process for incorporating diverse expertise and perspectives
into their reports. Hopefully you all find this useful, as well.
Best,
Lori
