Hi all, since we are overdue for a WREN meeting, I'd like to propose a meeting on Wednesday with a special topic related to the recent news of a "Wikipedia NFT" auction by Jimmy Wales; a recent Twitter interaction with Creative Commons about NFT; and a larger discussion of the open GLAM space as it relates to NFT and the crypto community. Hi all, This would seem to be very relevant to all Wikimedians in residence or anyone in a compensated role: the WMF is putting out a new COI policy update. They are looking for feedback in the next 3 weeks. https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Conflict_of_interest_policy/2021_updates I haven't looked at it yet very deeply, but this thread might be a good place for discussion on anything we might find interesting. Wikimania submissions

Hi all, I was wondering if WREN wanted to officially submit a session idea for the Wikimania online conference this year (August 13-17). The submissions are a bit different in that you can submit as affiliates or individuals and it's all "closed" on its own system. I jotted down a bunch of GLAM ideas here on this Chat page, in case people wanted to look at the ideas or if WREN wanted to "claim" one of the focus areas: https://wikimania.wikimedia.org/wiki/2021:Submissions/Chat#GLAM IDEAS: I could see WREN wanting to host #1 (State of GLAM Wiki) since there is no official "GLAM" user group and WREN is perhaps the only steward of this wide space that is an affiliate. Another option is #3 (Tools and tech) since we have had a lot of discussion in WREN calls of best practices and tool sharing. Feel free to discuss on this list or on that wiki page. -Andrew
