Hey all,
Following feedback both on wiki and from a design research exercise we conducted in 2017, a new preferences setting for logged in users on Wiki's has been provided.
It will enable logged in users to opt out of CentralNotice campaigns by type. The settings will be found within their user preferences in a dedicated tab.
Campaign type is set by the CentralNotice administrators from the admin interface and campaign management special pages on meta.
This new feature is deployed on the beta cluster for those that have accounts.

This is nice, but ugh, a new tab in Special:Preferences is a steep price to pay! We spent a lot of time trying to reduce such pollution of the Special:Preferences page... Cf. https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T54817

Yeah, it can be a section under Appearance instead.
