- The Persian (Farsi) Wikipedia community decided to block IP editing from October 2021 to April 2022. The Wikimedia Foundation's Product Analytics team tracked the impact of this change. An impact report https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/IP_Editing:_Privacy_Enhancement_and_Abuse_Mitigation/IP_Editing_Restriction_Study/Farsi_Wikipedia is now available.

- The new version https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki_1.39/wmf.25 of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 16 August. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 17 August. It will be on all wikis from 18 August (calendar https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki_1.39/Roadmap). - Some wikis will be in read-only for a few minutes because of a switch of their main database. It will be performed on 16 August at 07:00 UTC (targeted wikis https://noc.wikimedia.org/conf/highlight.php?file=dblists/s1.dblist) and on 18 August at 7:00 UTC (targeted wikis https://noc.wikimedia.org/conf/highlight.php?file=dblists/s8.dblist). - The Realtime Preview https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Help:Extension:WikiEditor/Realtime_Preview will be available as a Beta Feature on wikis in Group 1 https://noc.wikimedia.org/conf/highlight.php?file=dblists%2Fgroup1.dblist.
