* The new PDF rendering engine will be enabled on production wikis as an optional (non-default) method of creating PDFs. ** This should probably happen on either Monday or Tuesday.

Ah, this will make https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Thread:Talk:PDF_rendering/Test_instance_and_b... much easier. But optional how? Having two PDF links by default would be ugly.

It's an additional option in the Format dropdown (the "e-book (PDF, ocg latex renderer)" option).
There *won't* be the "Download as WMF PDF" link that you see on eg http://en.wikipedia.beta.wmflabs.org/wiki/0.33921344305890455
