I am writing to share to share with you an update from the Malayalam Wiki community. The Malayalam Wikipedia Education Programmehttp://goo.gl/gpFuQ[1] - a partnership between the Malayalam Wiki Community and the Government of Kerala's IT@School Project was inaugurated on June 4th in Anchal, Kollam. Shiju has posted a blog about this Programmehttp://blog.wikimedia.org/2012/07/06/wikipedia-education-a-model-from-malayalam-wikipedia/.[4] There are some useful tips for all Indic communities who might be interested in education programmes. These include a focus on importance of local content as well as the crucial involvement of community members who are teachers and students as new editors. There is also an example of how to build strong partnerships with education authorities with support from community members involved in education.
