Hi All,
A new IRC (Internet relay chat) Channel has been created for discussions
related to Asamiya Wikipedia. On Freenode IRC (http://webchat.freenode.net/)
or any other freenode IRC client you need to type #wikipedia-as in the
channel field to join this IRC channel. Thanks to Tanvir Rahman and Danny_B
for helping out for creating this.
With the announcement of this channel creation I'd like to request all of
you to make time for an IRC discussion in any of the the coming
weekdays/this weekend. I had a discussion with Gitartha and Jyoti to
understand the scope of reviving the Offline version of Asamiya Wikipedia (
http://as.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:ASCD1) which went into a slumber because of
lack of activities. There is a chance of reviving it with the guidance of
existing wikipedians and bringing new wikipedians. This is something I'd
like to discuss with you. Apart from this there could be many other things
you can discuss during this meeting. Do let me know what would be a
suitable time for this IRC discussion.

Dear All
Wanted to let you know that Assamese Wikisource is finally created. It is
available here: http://as.wikisource.org/
The hard work of the community over the past few months to translate all
mediawiki messages and to keep an active incubator site finally paid off.
Congrats to all of you.
Now you can add Public Domain or Free Licensed Assamese books to Assamese
Wikisource.
