i hereby thank all my team members of holding the first ever Wikipedia anniversary to be held in Africa. Despite some mishaps here and there, the event turned out to be a success. It was a brilliant opportunity for us to answer the very many questions that were in the attendants' minds regarding Wikipedia. We were glad to host the keynote guest, Mr. Ting Chen as well as Jon Harald Soby from Wikimedia Norway. The dinner was great, the Wikimedia merchandise was awesome and the discussions were terrific.
I surely hope that this will be the start of many more Wiki events in Africa as this forum has proven to be an interactive and informative session.
Thanks once again to the Wikimedia Kenya team who organised this event and to the Foundation that supported us.
I'm sure that this is just a tip of the iceberg, and a more detailed report of this whole week's happenings will be posted soon.
Cheers, Sameer

I don't know how to process all these, but in the midst of my sorrow let me say congrats and thanks to everyone who created time and effort towards the event. i believe the event increased awareness of the Wikimedia Foundation and its activities amongst the attendants. I would strongly suggest that we conduct an online follow-up to the attendants to gather feedback about the event. We should encourage those who attended to create accounts with Wikimedia Kenya so that they get involved to its activities more. Once again, I deeply regret missing the event, but the circumstances were unavoidable.

i hereby thank all my team members of holding the first ever Wikipedia anniversary to be held in Africa.
Cheers,
Sameer
