speaking of presentations,Abbas is a prolific one.He moved us all in Berlin :P, So where you going Abbas? BTW,we could also repay our KU DEBT such that should some not make it to Kabarack,They will to KU since we are sipposed to deliver the same kind of ppt as the Kabarack's.
So is going to volunteer an Interim Treasury?

Hey Isaac,
Thanks for the vote of confidence, however, I feel that Abbas or Steve may fall well into this. If one of them is willing to take up the responsibility, I'd go with that, if not, I'm available on an interim basis.
cheers, Alex

Hi,
Just saw this on my way to bed!!
So to answer Alex,I would not mind taking up this roll of acting/interim treasurer.
Truly, Steve.
Steve, Since u are in charge of the Kabarak Invite,I suggest you draft a budget for the same and share with members at the 10th Meetup.Plus prepare an agenda and schedule for the same.We dont have much time.

Hi everyone, definitely I too second for the appointment of Steve as the interim treasurer. I think he can serve well under the position since he is a dedicated and hardworking member of the group. However, we can't just delegate all the duties of preparing the budget as well as the agenda to him only. I strongly feel that is a bit too much as he is already involved in the Kenyan syllabus project. So I would suggest we have other members picking up various roles as we prepare for the Saturday meet-up. Anyway have a great day. Regards,
Chris, Don't you think Steve would speak for himself? He has not complained plus he is the one in charge of the Kabarak Visit and knows all the nitty-gritty details of the same....;-),just my thought.... Cheers On Sep 8, 2011 9:42 AM, "Chris Riwa" chriwaustin@gmail.com wrote:

I had a chat with Steve regarding the budget and it's one of those things that requires a single head, the budget's relatively small: transport, accommodation for 2-3 people. Hardly requires a discussion around it.
Well the schedule's and what we are going to present is another story. More collaboration on that should be great.
Alex.

Hi,
I have noticed Chris noticing that I noticed the WFS Kenyan edition needs to be compiled ASAP and so I had been populating the topics on the meta.
As for the budget and logistics, I am comfortable handling given that it's a 'small' trip.
BTW,how many should go? 2 or 3? Please advice.
However, I would like you (WMKE) to chip in and prepare the other aspects of the visit.
I.e. *the topic and contents of the talk. like Jwild has already done by providing the link http://outreach.wikimedia.org/ wiki/Student_Organizations and thus preparing the slidez.
*what could be done on the material day to make the day a great success to the students and us. Kindly forward your suggestions as early as today.
cheers, steve

two people are enough.actually one would do but an additional is needed incase anything happens just to be on the safe side.i think 3 is too many unless anyone has a justifiable reason.

Hi people, I'd like to suggest that the issue of the number of attendees for the Kabarak presentation should be a subject for discussion at the meeting we will have at strathmore tomorrow (10th 09, 20011). Whats your take on the idea? Regards,
Absolutely perfect idea, we'll all be there and that makes it the perfect time for that!
