Dear GLAM Community,
Happy 2026!
We're excited to share that our GLAM Community Calls will be happening on
the fourth Tuesday of each month throughout 2026. Mark your calendars for
this month's call on January 27 at 13:30 UTC – you can register now on the
event page.
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Global_GLAM_calls
The calls will continue alternating between 8:00 UTC and 13:30 UTC to
accommodate community members across different time zones, with ongoing
support from the Content Partnerships Hub and the Content Enablement Team
at the Wikimedia Foundation.
We want to hear from you!
We're inviting everyone in the Global GLAM Community to submit your topic
requests and proposals.
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeX0hCAnZzbUdTLY2ncYBuFj0sn7aTw8Jf…
We're building our upcoming agendas around the five strategic pillars that
were developed at GLAM Wiki last year, which form the foundation for GLAM
activities in 2026 and beyond. By centering these pillars in our calls, we
hope to help affiliates and contributors prioritize these themes in their
own work and collaborate across time zones, countries, and languages to
advance GLAM Wiki activities together.
We are also welcoming new hosts for the calls! If you are interested in
getting involved as an organizer please use the form above as well. Looking
forward to seeing you at the call!
All the best,
GLAM Community Call Organizers

Hello
(Sorry for cross-posting!)
We’re thrilled to announce that submissions are now open for both the GLAM
Wiki Conference 2025 Scholarship Applications and the Call for Program
Proposals!
This milestone is the result of dedicated work by both the Scholarship and
Program Committees, as well as the Core Organizing Team — and we couldn’t
be happier to share this news with you today, on International Museums Day
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Museum_Day>.
This year’s conference theme is:
Resilience: Shaping the Future Through Community and Openness
This theme is grounded in three key aims: 1) Building the Future, 2)
Community Resilience, and 3) Digital Resilience.
We believe this is a timely and meaningful theme — one that resonates
deeply across the global open movement and within every part of the
Wikimedia community.
You can find full details, including scholarship criteria and program
tracks, on the Meta-Wiki event page.
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/GLAM_Wiki_2025
Deadlines:
- Scholarship Application: *7 June*
- Program Call-for-Proposals: *15 June*
Save the date!
The conference will take place 30 October – 1 November 2025, in Lisbon,
Portugal. Stay tuned for updates on registration, opening later in June
2025.
We can’t wait to welcome you to Lisbon — and we look forward to your ideas,
energy, and participation in shaping a resilient future together.
Kind regards,
The GLAM Wiki 2025 Organizing Team

Hello :)
*(survey incoming, apologies for the cross posting)*
The global GLAM community is buzzing with activity! Across the world, there
are meetings, campaigns, and projects all working to connect culture and
heritage with Wikimedia initiatives.
Earlier this year, the GLOSS working group was formed to explore what kind
of GLAM structure would best serve the community at this point, and what
needs it should address. This working group builds on years of
progress—especially the recent momentum—to further embed the GLAM community
within our movement.
As mentioned during last week’s Global Call, the working group is now
launching a needs assessment survey. Its purpose is to better understand
the global community and, ultimately, help shape a new approach that
supports GLAM activities around the world.
You can learn more about the GLOSS working group on the Meta page
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/GLAM/GLOSS
Most importantly, if you have thoughts on what a centralized GLAM structure
could look like—what needs it should meet, how it could support your work
and contribute to the broader movement—please take 5 minutes to fill out
the survey!
*Deadline 12 May!*
*https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/GLAM/GLOSS/Survey
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/GLAM/GLOSS/Survey>*
And feel free to spread the word! Share it with your local chapter, other
affiliates, or directly with fellow editors and volunteers.
The survey is already available in 4 languages. You can translate the
survey meta page, and we will update the survey with your translation!
Best,
GLOSS Working Group!

Liebe alle
Die ZB ZĂĽrich organisiert am kommenden Dienstag einen Vorbereitungs-Workshop im Hinblick auf den GLAMhack vom 6./7. September in Luzern.
Mitnehmen: Laptop (optional).
