Hello Everyone!
The deadline for voting on the ratification of the Movement Charter is
approaching next week. Deadline is July 9.
-
All eligible Wikimedians may vote as individuals (check here
<https://meta.toolforge.org/accounteligibility/75> to determine
eligibility).
-
All affiliates in good standing may also cast one vote for the
affiliate. As the designated affiliate voter for WMNYC (User: Windblown29),
I have set up additional info and links for you to explore below.
At our WikiWednesday meeting last week, we discussed the charter, the
voting process and shared initial comments about our affiliate vote. We
want to continue hearing from you, throughout this weekend, and hopefully
by Monday July 8, so that we will have time to compile comments and
suggestions before the deadline.
You may find supplemental information on the Charter, as well as the full
text here: Movement Charter
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Movement_Charter>
To add a comment/suggestion for our collective affiliate vote, please
comment on our talk page.
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Meetup/NYC/June_2024#Wikimedia…>
You may also share on our Discord Channel
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Discord>.
We encourage you to vote both as an individual and share with us your
comments regarding our affiliate vote.
Our President, Richard Knipel (User: Pharos) is and has been a member of
the Movement Charter Drafting Committee, and is able to answer any specific
questions you may have regarding the Charter text.
Please take a look at the Charter and supplemental materials and let us
know your opinion and how you feel WMNYC affiliate should vote.
Thank you!
Best,
Rajene Hardeman (User: Windblown29)
Strategy Officer, WMNYC
