Saturday, noon-3pm. No experience necessary, all are welcome.
Want to learn how to add your local park to Wikipedia? Want to learn how to
add information about the environment to Wikipedia?
There will be tutorials, editing, snacks and two short talks, one on City
Island Oyster Reef and one on the Hutchinson River Restoration Project.
Wikimedia NYC is honored to be co-hosting the Edit-a-thon event at the New
York Botanical Garden. Titled “Environment of the Bronx - Editing Wikipedia
for Beginners” we will be focusing on the theme of the environment of the
Bronx and teaching beginners how to use Wikipedia. We will be working off
of task lists prepared by the Environment of New York City Task Force. The
event is in the LuEsther T. Mertz Library, which is a historic building at
the NYBG. This Saturday *free* 12p-3p. There will be a nature walk after
the Wikipedia editing.

levels of experience. We're here to answer all of your wiki questions, and
to help you with any community project to build up better coverage of local

All attendees are subject to Wikimedia NYC's Code of Conduct. In addition,
to participate in person you should be vaccinated and also be sure to
respect others' personal space, and we may limit overall attendance size if
appropriate. Prime Produce encourages the wearing of masks when indoors,
and especially be mindful of those in your proximity.
