Hi wiki-yorkers,
The next Wiki-Workshop will be on Tuesday August 9, 7pm @ New Work
City (412 Broadway at Canal St) in Lower Manhattan.
The special focus of session this will be the Wikipedia Campus
Ambassador program (getting ready to kick off the Fall 2011 term):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Ambassadors
(This will be a "getting started" session for all students, professors
and faculty interested in the Wikipedia Campus Ambassador program; but
not the full-on official Campus Ambassador training, which will be
held over two days in late August or early September.)
Please bring your questions on wiki basics and educational outreach
programs, and we'll shape the agenda to your interests.
No previous wiki-knowledge required :)

Hi wiki-friends,
I'd like to invite folks to join our four new volunteer 'Teams'
(Education, Financial, Media, and Tech), each focused on a different
broad area of Wikipedia/Wikimedia outreach in the NYC-Northeast area.
We will probably have discussion forums and a bit more structure for
each of the 'Teams' in future.
Sign up for one or two Wikimedia NYC 'Teams' today on our new chapter wiki:
http://nyc.wikimedia.org/wiki/Volunteer
You are also encouraged to join the discussion mailing list for
'Teams' and in-depth planning (this is separate from the events
announcement mailing list):

Let me know if you have any questions about the volunteering, the
'Teams', or related issues, I'll be glad to help catch you up :)
Thanks,
Richard
