Hello, everyone.
Let me take this opportunity of congratulating a new member to ask a simple
question:
*What is the main obstacle standing in your way to do chapter-like
activities of outreach, public speaking, partnerships, etc.?*
I would like to remind you that the new Wikimedia Grants
program<http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Index>[1]
is now available to any mission-aligned group (including non-chapters), and
that ad-hoc trademark agreements can be (and have been) signed with such
groups to allow them limited use of the Wikimedia Foundation trademarks
(e.g. the Wikipedia name and logo).
How can the Wikimedia Foundation help Wikimedians in Singapore do more?
Cheers,
Asaf Bartov

Hi everyone,
I just knew that we have a mailing list for SG wikipedians so I just joined.
Thought I shall introduce myself.
I'm [[User:Bencmq]] <http://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Bencmq> from Chinese
Wikipedia. I am currently active on Chinese Wikipedia and Commons, and I am
also an OTRS volunteer. Used to be a sysop on zhwiki but resigned in sec 4.
I am now a Year 6/JC 2 student and yes I am quite young...
and, I am not active on English Wikipedia, only have 200+ edits there. Most
of them were correcting interwiki, adding image from Commons, OTRS templates
etc. All trivial edits.
Anyway, I went through the mailing list's archive and wish we can see
Wikimedia SG someday!
Best,
Benjamin Chen
Hello, all.
I attended a conference on maritime archaeology at the Asian Civilisations
Museum recently, and received a letter for complimentary entry to the
''Shipwrecked: Tang Treasures and Monsoon Winds'' exhibition at the
ArtScience Museum. As I have already been to the museum, I am happy to pass
on this letter to an SGpedian (or any Wikipedia volunteer who will be in
Singapore between now and 31 July) on condition that he or she uses the
opportunity to photograph artefacts at the exhibition for uploading to
"Commons:Category:Artifacts
recovered from the Belitung
shipwreck<http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Artifacts_recovered_from_the_Bel…>".
The letter is valid till 31 July 2011, and I do not know if it entitles the
bearer to view other exhibitions going on in the Museum as well.
Those interested should e-mail me by visiting my user page and clicking on
the link on the left side of the screen. Priority will be given to
experienced photographers, so do let me know a bit about your photography
experience when you contact me. Please get in touch by 30 June. Thanks.
Cheers,
