Greetings Program Leaders and Evaluators!
Important updates from Learning and Evaluation:
== Writing Contest Report in Peer Review! [1]==
The Writing Contest Report[1] is now available on Meta and in Peer Review.
We are going to publish the report more widely on July 3rd, 2015. The
report includes data from 39 contests about inputs, outputs and outcomes.
The contests in the report had a total of 745 participants who added nearly
23 million characters to over 15,000 articles, across 11 or more different
language Wikipedias. You will also find several quotes from interviews with
contest organizers that offer context and first-hand insight around setting
goals, planning and tools for writing contests.
For the peer review, let us know:
- To what extent is the report easy or difficult to read?
- To what extent is it clear or not clear how to use the report?
- In what ways might you use this report in your community?
- Any other feedback?
Please take a few moments to read the report and send us feedback!
== Writing Contests Program Toolkit: Sneak Preview! [2] ==
The writing contest toolkit is the second from a series of program guides
on how to implement more effective Wikimedia programs. It was created
gathering knowledge from experienced program leaders who have run programs
like The WikiCup, Catalan Cultural Challenge and the WikiWomen Prize, among
others. We are now sharing with you the draft preview of this new
resources. Be part of the writing contest learning community; sign up in
the connect or forum page! [2]
== Agenda for Learning Day: July 15, Wikimania México [3] ==
We now have an agenda available for the upcoming Learning Day [3]. Due to
reduced capacity, participation in Learning Day is by invitation only. If
you have received an invitation email, please be sure to confirm your
attendance and remember to fill out the survey! If you have not yet been
contacted by someone on the Learning and Evaluation team, and would like to
take part, please email us at eval(a)wikimedia.org. Participants will have
the option to share what they know in three different ways: a poster about
a project or program, a lightening talk and a story for Fail Fest. Follow
the event page on Meta to learn more [3].
As always, stay up to date with upcoming news and events by following our
events page [4]!
