Update posted to Meta: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/LibLabs
We're still largely looking for abstract use cases, similar projects around the world, groups that would use a space in DC, and volunteers to staff the DCPL lab while others use it.
Nate and I talked to the founders of "The Uni Project" which is implementing what could be considered a two- or three-module liblab (mainly for group reading, reconfigurable space, and workshops) in NYC and Boston. Lots of good overlap there; once we've nailed down an elevator pitch next month they might sign on as a partner. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/uni/the-uni-a-portable-open-air-reading-...
