Hello everyone,
The Board of Directors of Wikimedia DC will be meeting on November 13,
2011, at 2:00 PM, at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library in
Washington, DC. The meeting will also be accessible via conference call
at 916-209-4534 (PIN # 7328117).
The order of business for the meeting is attached, and any comments would
be very welcome. As always, everyone interested is invited to attend the
meeting in person or via conference call. If you're planning to attend in
person, please let me know so that we can ensure enough available space.
Cheers,
Kirill

Hello everyone,
I'd like to inform everyone about some of the positions currently open
within Wikimedia District of Columbia. We are seeking volunteers for three
positions, outlined below:
1. Event Coordinator
We are looking for a volunteer to serve as the chapter's Event
Coordinator. The responsibilities of this position are not yet fully
defined, and candidates are welcome to propose particular arrangements with
which they would feel most comfortable.
At a minimum, we would like the Event Coordinator to organize two events
over the course of the 2011-12 fiscal year; the precise nature and time of
the events is up to the Event Coordinator (within reason, of course), and
suggestions are welcome.
2. Director
As all of you know, the recent election of the Board of Directors resulted
in only six of the seven available seats being filled; the Board will
therefore be required to appoint an additional Director to serve until the
next scheduled election.
We are currently continuing to seek potential candidates for the open seat;
anyone interested in the governance of the chapter and willing to
participate in Board meetings is invited to submit their name for
consideration.
3. Committee members
We are also looking for additional volunteers to serve on the following
committees:
- Audit - Members will review the chapter's financial records and
practices. Some degree of accounting training or experience is preferred,
though not required.
- Fundraising - Members will assist in developing the fundraising plan for
the coming year and help prepare solicitations and grant proposals.
- Legal - Members will advise the Board on legal and contractual matters.
Some degree of legal training or experience is preferred, though not
required.
If anyone is interested in any of these positions, please contact me. In
addition, if you know of someone who may be interested but who is not
subscribed to this list, please feel free to forward this email to them.
Cheers,
Kirill
