Hey,
I'm from Jungle Bus, a French company that maps public transport in OpenStreetMap, and in particular in Africa. We are really excited by the theme of the Wiki Loves Africa 2020 contest!
We would like to organize a kind of sub-contest about paratransit in Africa. Despite its popularity, paratransit is under-documented, in general, and on Wikipedia & Wikidata in particular.
The subcontest will be about submitting of visual representations of locally specific paratransit vehicles (matatus, kombis, trotro, gbakas, etc) and equipment (stops and stations).
While we will mostly target the OpenStreetMap communities (that already take geolocated pictures to support their mapping activities), we would like to keep it open to everyone and under the same conditions as the Wiki Loves Africa contest. I think it's a cool opportunity to bridge the gap between open communities !
Does it sounds good for you ? Can we create a Commons category to gather the submissions ? Something like "Jungle Bus Paratransit contest 2020"
Generally speaking, we are wikimedian beginners so we are open to any comments and help to do this in the best possible way ;)

Hello Noemie
First of all, I think it is completely ok to create a category "Jungle Bus Paratransit contest 2020" on Wikimedia Commons. Simple enough to tag all pictures uploaded on the topic on that category.
Then... I wonder why you would not "mix" the current Wiki Loves Africa, since the theme is exactly on that, with a Jungle Bus effort.
If I were you, I would create a [[Category:Jungle Bus Paratransit]], and I would upload some pictures to Wiki Loves Africa 2020, making sure to ALSO tag them [[Category:Jungle Bus Paratransit]].
Then later, when you create your drive, create [[category:Jungle Bus Paratransit contest 2020]], which would be hosted in the parent category [[Category:Jungle Bus Paratransit]]. And when you promote your contest... you can already directly use some of the pictures uploaded during WLA. I mean... why procrastinating ???
How does that look ?
Florence
