Subject: Re: [Wikibots-l] Asking for bot status
2007/5/7, Tim Doyle <tim(a)greenscourt.com>om>:
I think there is a communication problem here. Correct
me if I am
wrong, but here's what I understand:
1. Andre is the author of a bot framework.
2. Other people use this framework to create bots of their own to use
on various wikis. 3. Andre is being asked to get bot status for these
bots, which he is not running himself.
No, that's not the issue. It is about my own bot. And it's not about getting
bot status, but about asking to get bot status. If I had been in some
position to make it happen (like being a Steward), I would not mind having
to use that. If someone else requests a bot flag for my bot, I happily give
whatever information information is needed. But what's happening is that
people come to me saying they think my bot should have a bot flag, so I
should ask for it. If YOU think that my bot needs a bot flag, why don't YOU
request it?
