Hi Wikibase Community,
I recently asked the following in the wikibase.cloud telegram group:
Is there an easy way of resetting an existing instance to zero - the same
effect that we got when we threw away persistent volumes in a
docker-managed instance. For sandbox use cases, it's really helpful to be
able to start from scratch again easily. I suppose the next best thing
would be to delete an instance and make a new one.
Greenreaper commented:
I'm not aware of a way to do this but as you say making a new one should be
fine, my only concern is whether deleted ones count for the current limit
of six wikibases. Also not sure if the deleted names are reserved, they may
be.
Could anyone give a definitive answer to those wb.c questions? Do deleted
wb.c instances count against quota? Could one create a new instance with
the same name as a deleted one?
And from the point of view of pure wikibase (leaving out the .cloud), is
there a nice way of resetting an instance to empty?
Thanks,
Max (Donald) Ziff
