Hi Magnus,
would it possible to put that tool under a free license (or I just
oversaw that)?
I want to use that tool with changes it would be much helpfull if the
tool is under such license instead of inventing the wheel new.
Greets,

Hello,
CAS numbers are used to identify chemical compounds [1]. Someone on
fr.wp has created a template for CAS numbers; it uses the CAS number
as a parameter and outputs some links to several resources/databases
[2]. The thing is, although these links might be useful, the articles
aren't really the good place for them.
I was wondering if someone from this list would be willing to write a
simple tool on the toolserver à la GeoHack. The tool would do exactly
what the template is doing right now, i.e. it would check the validity
of the input and would output a few links [3]. The template would then
be modified to simply link to this tool.
This should be pretty easy (I think) and it would avoid displaying all
these links inside the articles. Anyone interested?
Many thanks in advance.

http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acrylamide ; look at "N°
CAS" in the infobox and click on the [+] symbol to expand the
template.
