It actually hasn't got any updates at all:
$ git rev-parse upstream/python3 840621ac12de68e1383f931871cff14a4096ccf3 $ git merge-base upstream/master upstream/python3 840621ac12de68e1383f931871cff14a4096ccf3
The common ancestor of both branches is also the last commit of the python3 branch. I think it was added when it wasn't clear if there was an extra Python 3 only version. Luckily we don't need to maintain another version.

pywikibot/core has a 'python3' branch which has been last updated in October 2013. Since the 'master' branch supports py3k fairly well now, it looks like the old branch should be deleted. Thoughts?
