High level Wikidata API

Hi folks, happy new year! Every time I use pwb for Wikidata I miss the high level APIs that are available in Lua in my language, things like: getBestValue, getValueAtTimestamp (for example the name of a country in 1920), getChainedValue (walking through the properties graph) etc. Is not having such APIs an explicit design decision or it's just that nobody got around to implementing them in the library? Are there other people interested in such APIs? I can contribute some of them from my scripts. Best, Strainu

Infobox tidy script

Hi PWB friends, I was about to write a bot script but figured I should ask her first. On fawiki, I occasionally run into pages where the infobox template at the top of the page is squished into one very long line, as opposed to being multiline. Look at this example <https://test.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Infobox_tidy&action=edit> I made on testwiki; I want to turn it to something looking like this <https://test.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Infobox_tidy&action=edit&oldid…>. I have a reasonable sense of how to write the bot script and what possible edge cases to watch for, but I wonder if someone may have already written a script for this purpose. LMK, Huji

Hi everyone, I am Budhachandra, I am new around here. My goal is to get familiar to the project and be ready for Wikimedia Software Engineering Internship Program (2025). Currently I am looking at this issue: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T154281. Can I be assigned to this issue ? The repository mirrored on github has a README.md which shows how to set up the environment. I have done the first few steps and have generated user-config.py with default settings. I look forward to working with everyone.
