Summary: featured.py: Add 'Link FA' again for hi and yi
Initial Comment:
Both, hiwiki and yiwiki do use Template:Link_FA, the pages hi:Template:Lien AdQ and yi:Template: are only redirects.
By re-adding 'Link FA' to the langs arrays, Template:Link_FA will be used by the bot (otherewise those redirects).

Summary: readd inuktitut wiktionary to family
Initial Comment:
Dear all, please readd the inuktitut wiktionary (language code iu) to the wiktionary families, so login.py allows to log in to this wiktionary to work there.
It had been closed accidentally although there were people actively contributing. It had been reopened already, so please remove this error from pywikipediabot too.
Many thanks in advance.

Summary: diskcache files could be deleted when bot finishes
Initial Comment:
Currently, using diskcache, cache files are created in the folder "cache". But they do not get deleted on proper exits. If you run the bot once more, a new cache file (for each wiki) is created:
1st run: msg-wikipedia-eo-wpovcxkn
2nd run: msg-wikipedia-eo-oqxakgvsy
etc.
When the bot finishes, all current *cache* files (c|sh)ould be deleted.

Yes __del__ is not guaranteed to be called everytime, and we should not
rely on it to do this kind of operations : __del__ is called on an object
only when its reference counts goes to zero. And here, our cache object is
referenced by our Site objects, which are referenced... barely everywhere,
and yes, in some special cases, we might have a reference cycle, preventing
the __del__ call : the memory is freed, in the C layer, but __del__ is not
called.
I renamed __del__ to delete() and added a call in stopme() in r5670. If
this bug happens again, we'll have to double check for final calls to
stopme() in our scripts :)

Really strange that that destructor does not work. Perhaps add this
function to wikipedia.stopme() ?

I consider this a bug report, not a feature request because that it's
expected behaviour.
diskcache.py:
def __del__(self):
self.cache_file.close()
import os
os.unlink(self.cache_path)
os = None
os.unlink() delete the file (http://docs.python.org/lib/os-file-dir.html).

Summary: Undo decodeEsperantoX removal (r5563)
Initial Comment:
I do not know why siebrand had problems with decodeEsperantoX(),
see http://eo.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sunfloro&diff=1775705&oldid=15592… - but now I do have that problem (not with interwiki.py, but with featured.py and replace.py)!
See http://eo.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Vitamino_C&diff=prev&oldid=1819462
Characters are replaced to gxx, sxx etc., making templates unusable etc...
As decodeEsperantoX() had been used for a very long time, please undo that change:

encodeEsperantoX calls were removed in r5670.
I'm leaving this open, since I bet there was a reason for that X writing
convention. Does removing it complety is problematic ?

The problem seems to be that decodeEsperantoX() has been removed, but
encodeEsperantoX() remains.
So the encodeEsperantoX() parts currently produce 'xx'! Either revert the
SVN change, or also ?remove? encodeEsperantoX().

Summary: Update/optimization of featured.py
Initial Comment:
1. added dsb summary
2. removed all namespace prefixes (else they just get obsolete with the time); using English standards in that patch (how to use module dicts?)...
Diff patch is attached ;-)

You are right. Parts of featured.py were quite badly written.
Applied your patch in r5669, along with some code cleanup. FYI, the
function you were searching for was :
Site::namespace( int ns ) returns string
Thanks ;)
