Summary: delete.py -cat follows subcats
Initial Comment:
when using -cat on delete.py, it follows sub cats and deletes them also.
can this possibly changed to only delete pages in the cat pointed to in in -cat
and the current code be moved to the logical "-subcat" to follow the pattern on other scripts?

It is now possible not to delete pages in subcategories, using the new
parameter "-nosubcats". The behavior of the "-cat" parameter was not
changed, to avoid breaking backwards compatibility.

The reason is that we don't want to flood the wiki with bot edits.
Even if the edits are hidden on recentchanges, maximizing the number
of edits per minute is good on a public wiki.
To change or stop this, you can use -putthrottle:nn (or -pt:nn) with
nn a number on the command line. This will change the time from 10
seconds to nn seconds (so 0 will completely remove it). If you want to
change it for ALL runs of your bot , you can put
put_throttle = nn
again with nn a number, in your user-config.py.

Hi
I am uploading a lot of documents to my local wiki. However,
Pywikipedia is sleeping for nearly 10 seconds between calls to
page.put(...). For large amounts of files this is quite noticeable.
"Sleeping for 9.3 seconds, 2008-02-19 10:06:45"
"Creating page [[en:<something>]]"
Can someone briefly explain why this sleep time is necessary and also
how to reduce it (eliminate it?) if possible. I am thinking there is a
story here... :-)
I think I saw a script somewhere tackling a similar problem, but I
can't seem to find it now.
Regards
Lee Francis

Summary: Site class is missing the documented "messages" method
Initial Comment:
Strange that no one noticed that. I was using Site.messages field without noticing that I should expect a method. Until the recent rewrite, it was working properly, but as of now, Site.messages is not initialized properly and accessing it is hazardous. I'd like messages() implemented, please :)
Thanks !

_getEditPage is setting the Site.messages field, which is not accessed
within the Site class :
#Check for new messages
if '<div class="usermessage">' in text:
self.site().messages=True
else:
self.site().messages=False
the _messages array should be used instead.
